Our editorial team
Our editorial team is composed of health writers and researchers who specialize in age-related eye conditions, ophthalmology news, and consumer health. We aim for clear, accurate, and compassionate explanations of chronic dry eye, over-the-counter options, and when professional care matters.
All clinical claims on the site are reviewed for accuracy. Where appropriate, we cite peer-reviewed research, FDA labeling, and statements from professional ophthalmology and optometry organizations.
Why we exist
We started DryEyeDrops because the existing options for learning about dry eye treatment are bad. Pharmaceutical company websites read like marketing copy. Forums are full of contradictory advice. And the brands you see most aggressively advertised aren't always the best fit for every patient. Dry eye symptoms can be confusing, and marketing claims are not always easy to compare. We publish structured comparisons and guides so readers can ask better questions of their eye care professionals—not to replace medical advice.
Our role is straightforward: we read the research, we compare the products, we collect patient experiences, and we publish what we find. We don't promise miracle cures. We help you understand your options.
Who we serve
Most of our readers are adults over 50 who have been managing chronic dry eye for years — often through post-cataract surgery, meibomian gland dysfunction, Sjögren's syndrome, or as a side effect of long-term medication use. Our content is written with adults managing long-term irritation, fluctuating vision comfort, and medication routines—including readers who prefer larger type, plain language, and calm pacing.
How we are funded
Transparency matters. DryEyeDrops may receive referral commissions when readers click through to recommended products or telehealth services. These commissions support our editorial work but do not influence our rankings — products are selected based on clinical evidence, patient outcomes, accessibility, and cost. For full details, read our Advertising & affiliate disclosure.
Editorial judgments—what we cover, how we rank products in comparison tables, and how we update pages—are made independently of any single advertiser. When affiliate relationships exist, they do not change our medical disclaimer: this site does not provide personalized medical diagnosis or treatment.
